Portland, OR (AHN) - A study by the Kaiser Permanente Center for Health Research released Tuesday said keeping a daily food diary helped overweight people lose weight twice as much as those who did not keep a record of what they ate.
According to Victor Stevens, senior investigator at Kaiser, the food diary provides the dieter an awareness of what he is taking in, which could track the source of extra calories.
Kaiser observed for two years 1,685 men and women who were battling the bulge. After half a year of maintaining a food log, they lost an average of 12.5 pounds. Participants who faithfully recorded their food intake lost between 13 to 20 pounds over six months, while those who did not have a food diary shed only an average of 9 pounds.
The food log also provides dieters a good snapshot of their eating habits. According to Sharon Meyes, a nutrition therapist at the Institute for Health and Healing of the California Pacific Medical Center, "People are quite surprised by what they find... They have this idea that they're eating two or three slices of bread in a day and then they realize they're eating six. Writing everything down brings us back to reality."
The study will be published by the American Journal of Preventive Medicine.

i'm suprised that some of you feel that you're overweight. the last time i met nida, ummu auni and aida, semuanya nampak 'normal' je. and that wasn't too long ago.
Tp elok'h dia org jaga2 sedari awal YM..kalu dah obes nanti susah..tp biasa'a kalu kita nampak normal tu kalu ukur BMI still b'lebih ..lain'h kalu nampak kurus keding..confirm tak over weight.

ym...aik! apasal normal dlm inverted comma, mcm x berapa normal jer...yg maksu nampak tu luaran, dalamannya terjuih, terbonjol, tahan nafas je masa pi rumah maksu hari tu. ni pun dok tonyoh krim kambing n gamat yang ct kasi, yg mmg tahu sgt bentuk badan adik dia nih. Terlompat2 pakai krim tuh, panassss!!

lagipun aida & aini tgh diet ni. dulu tak reti diet, konon nak target berapa kg, tapi melantak makan jugak -> mmg tak achieve goal jugak la jadinya
skrg dah ada kawan yg actively buat diet, sebab tu tumpang sekaki. so dia dtg rumah buat health check semua. sambil diet, dok teringat kat kak da, mesti kak da pun sibuk nak diet.. tu yang ajak sekali.
kalau CY nak join, boleh jer!
p/s: kak da, jadikan hari ahad ni jam 10 pagi? aida dah janji dgn kawan nak bawa dia gi rumah kak da. kak da jgn terkejut tgk kawan aida tu, dia very chubby.. tapi diet hari tu dah turun 6 kg you!

group diet ni.. macam aida makan supplement. ni kawan aida jual, tinidewi.. kiteorg gi rumah kak da ahad lepas, buat measurement semua. tapi kak da pun takdelah dipaksa beli supplement, cuma advise cara pemakanan la..
lagipun nak suruh beli supplement ni bukan boleh paksa-paksa, kalau nak beli, barulah beli kan.
hari tu kak da just amik teamix, lepas dah dpt measurement body fat semua, tinidewi share cara pemakanan semua. bukanlah promoting supplement tu, at least kita tau our body in what health state. cam aida pun makan sebab nak kurangkan body fat (jangan tak caya, body fat aida 30% ++! walaupun nampak kurus).
kalau CY nak timbang untuk tau pasal weight measurement, body fat, body water %, boleh minta kawan aida dtg sana. nanti munirah pantang kat ampang, aida boleh dtg kot bawa kawan aida sekali..
ok tak?
